Physicians


Physicians affiliated with participating medical centers donate surgical and specialty procedures to OA patients, either in their offices or at the hospitals and surgery centers where they practice. We invite physicians in the following specialties to volunteer with OA.

  • Ophthalmology
  • Orthopedic Surgery
  • Plastic & Reconstructive

  • Vascular Surgery
Some of the more common procedures provided through OA include: hernia repairs, cataract removals, diagnostic colonoscopies, cyst removals, biopsies, ENT, and knee repairs.

As an OA volunteer you will:
  • Feel great knowing that you helped a person in need who otherwise might not be cared for
  • Volunteer in your own office and hospital - no need to travel
  • See highly motivated patients who are case managed by OA
  • Have confidence in the referrals, knowing that the clinics use well-defined guidelines
  • Prevent medical conditions from developing into costly emergencies.
Permanente Medical Group Physicians

TPMG Physicians
generally serve OA patients during Saturday Sessions which are scheduled 2-4 times per year at each of the following KP medical centers:
  • Antioch
  • Hayward/Fremont
  • Oakland
  • Redwood City
  • Richmond
  • San Francisco
  • San Rafael
  • Santa Rosa
  • South San Francisco
  • Walnut Creek
On average, six patients are served at each session, but the actual number varies based on the availability of operating and procedure rooms at each facility.

Community Physicians
Surgeons and specialists who practice at our partner community hospitals generally integrate OA patients into their routine schedules. Arrangements with the anesthesiology group are determined on a case by case basis. The following medical centers currently participate with OA:
