Operation Access began se
rving residents of Alameda County in 1998. Currently six medical centers, four medical groups, 211 medical volunteers, and 25 referring clinics participate in the program. Over 2400 low-income uninsured residents have received surgical and specialty care donated by these medical centers and volunteers.

volunteers.
The referral volume from Alameda County clinics is consistently the highest of the six counties we serve. With the large population of uninsured patients in the county, Operation Access's capacity to provide donated care is a great asset to the healthcare safety net.
